Give Your Home a Fresh Summer Look |
| |
The seasons change. Just as fall makes way for winter, so does the cold weather make way for the warm of spring and summer, but what about the interior of your home? Does it still look like the dead of winter from your dinner table? Does your living room look like it did when snow pressed against the windows?
If the interior of your home is looking a little like something winter left behind, why not take a little time and bring summer indoors? You’ll be surprised at what a few small changes can make. Consider the following:
Color makes the difference: Of all the infinite color choice possibilities it is white that adorns most interior walls across America. Although white is a safe color choice, it is also very sterile and has nothing to do with evoking summer. If you have white walls, or maybe just a color you’ve grown tired of, consider repainting with a warm summer color like yellow, gold, or peach.
Change up your home accessories: It can be very easy to overlook what home accessories we have out on display. To illustrate, I just noticed I still had a Christmas wreath still up on my back door. Yes home accessories can be very easy to overlook, and how many of your knick knacks have any relevance to summer? Probably not many. Why not take down a few of the items you have on display and replace them, temporarily, with something more suggestive of the season.
Flowers and Plants: We go through the whole winter with no signs of life anywhere outdoors, so why not bring some of that life now that its in abundance? Do you have flowers growing in your garden? Don’t just let them live and die on the vine. Go out and clip some fresh flowers and bring them inside. They’ll not only add a great fresh smell to your home, they’ll also add that much needed slash of live to your homes interior.
What about plants? Green growing plants not only help purify the air in your home they also greatly add to the indoor summer feel that may be lacking from your home.
Giving your home a summer look isn’t just about aesthetics, it’s also about your state of mind. Giving your home a summer look will create an interior space that is calming and relaxing, and summer is all about taking the time for a little rest and relaxation.
