Beach Boys, James Burton Headed To Fender Hall
The Beach Boys and James Burton are among those headed to the Fender Hall of Fame. "Vintage Guitar" magazine says the legendary surf group and Ricky Nelson's one-time guitarist have been tapped for the honor along with Western swing guitarist Bill Carson, photographer Bob Perine, who did marketing and advertising for Fender from 1957 until 1969, and former Fender employees Don Johnston and Dan Smith. This is the second group of inductees into the guitar maker's hall, which was established last year to honor artists, innovators, and others who've been significant in the company's history. The induction ceremony will include video tributes to the honorees and a musical salute from a band made up of Fender employees. The 2008 Fender Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place in Tempe, Arizona on August 8th. |
