Will.i.am Remixes "My Generation" For Haiti Charity
Black Eyed Peas member Will.i.am has just remixed the classic tune from The Who, "My Generation," to benefit Haiti relief efforts. Will.i.am says, quote, "We were in the middle of a remix for the Super Bowl ad of one of the greatest songs of our time, 'My Generation,' when this tragic earthquake hit Haiti. I was moved to do something, and I immediately reached out to Pete Townshend and FLO TV. We decided to come together to create a full-length version of the track. This version will contain additional lyrics not included in the commercial."
All proceeds from the sale of the song will be donated to Oxfam's Haiti Earthquake Response Fund. The track made its debut during a Super Bowl ad on Sunday during a spot for FLO TV that aired just ahead of The Who's halftime performance. Those who wish to purchase the track to benefit Haiti relief may do so at Amazon.com, Will.i.am's "DipDive.com, and at TheWho.com. On this new "My Generation," remix, Will.i.am improvises new lyrics to the song and rock guitarist Slash plays. |
