30 Seconds Talks Hawk Sound On "Kings"
The 30 Seconds To Mars song may be called "Kings And Queens," but the track itself opens with the sound of a hawk. During the recording sessions for the album, the band found that a hawk had been hanging around the studio so they attempted to record it for future usage. Frontman Jared Leto and guitarist Tomo Milicevic say their relationship with the bird continues to this day.
Of their initial meeting with the bird, Milicevic says, quote, "It was there pestering us every day, so we wanted to immortalize it." Even after the sessions, the hawk remains a fixture around the studio. Milicevic and singer Jared Leto say the bird now has some friends that have come to roost and take in the music as well. The guitarist says the hawk and its "homies" have been "frolicking and having just a grand old time" lately. |
