Stone Temple Pilots Take Flight In Studio
Stone Temple Pilots are not content with just a reunion tour. Singer Scott Weiland tells "Details" magazine that even though they've played a fair share of shows since getting back together in 2008, the plan has always been to record new music. He explains, quote, "We have just as much fun in the creative process as we do on the road -- it's not like when we were in our twenties and it was rock and roll hell on wheels." As for STP's new, self-titled release, Weiland says, quote, "This is a back-to-basics rock record. There's some stuff that deviates, like 'Cinnamon,' which is The Beatles meets Joy Division. It's a different sound for us, but this is a Stone Temple Pilots rock record." The CD "Stone Temple Pilots" is due in stores May 25th. It will be the band's first collection of new studio material since 2001's "Shangri-La Dee Da." |
