Travis Barker Takes Two Drummies
Blink 182's Travis Barker is a two-time winner at the 2010 Drummie Awards. The rocker was named Mainstream Pop Drummer and Punk Drummer in the fourth annual "DRUM!" Magazine poll. In addition, Slipknot's Joey Jordison got the nod for Metal Drummer, The Almost and Underoath's Aaron Gillespie captured Live Performer honors, and Dream Theater's Mike Portnoy was recognized as the top Progressive Rock Drummer. Others taking awards include Dave Matthews Band's Carter Beauford, who took Jam Band Drummer, and Them Crooked Vultures' Dave Grohl, who was voted Alternative Rock Drummer. Rush's Neil Peart received the top honor of Drummer of the Year for a fourth consecutive year. He's also been tapped for induction into the Drummies Hall of Fame. |
