The Dead Weather To Continue
The Dead Weather quickly cranked out two albums in the last two years, and band members will soon return to their original groups. However, bassist Jack Lawrence tells Billboard.com The Dead Weather isn't splitting up. He notes they'll, quote, "either be recording or doing some more shows. I don't think we can stop. Even if someone was too busy, nothing seems like it's going to be getting in the way of this. Our other bands are still alive, obviously, but this one is right up there. It doesn't feel like a side project or anything to us. It feels like a real band, and I think it's just getting better the more we get to play."
But Lawrence is not sure just when The Dead Weather's next album will be ready. He notes that while the "Sea Of Cowards" album came about fast from a burst of post-"Horehound" writing, they only have a few ideas for the next record and are not nearly at the point they were after the first release. But the bassist adds that when The Dead Weather returns, the music should come together pretty easily. Immediately ahead for Lawrence is a return to The Greenhornes, who are coming back together this fall for their first album in five years. |
